What is Domestic & Family Violence?

Domestic and family violence (DFV) is any behaviour in an intimate or family relationship which is violent, threatening, coercive or controlling, causing a person to live in fear or to feel unsafe. DFV can affect anyone regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, culture, socioeconomic group and geographic location. The impact on individuals, children, families and the wider community is significant.
